Isle of MTV - The highlights of a fantastic show

The series of four Isle of MTV free summer concerts at the Floriana Granaries ended with a bang yesterday as an eclectic mix of performers got an already energetic crowd going to the live version of tunes that have been hitting the airwaves.

Video above shows highlights of the concert, held in association with the Malta Tourism Authority. The show yesterday featured R&B singer-songwriter Kelis, followed by the "sexy" sounds of Scissor Sisters, the "real" music of Kid Rock and the cross-over hits of DJ-at-heart David Guetta.

Kelis, the Brit Award winner, was accompanied by her DJ symphony - rather than a standard band. She sang her Acapella, produced by David Guetta and termed the soundtrack to the summer, as well as some "fresh new tracks".

Scissor Sisters presented their mixture of glam rock, disco and alternative music to a heaving audience, performing tracks fresh from their recently released album Night Work, described by themselves as a "party record... a dance album".

Kid Rock, fresh from his "humbling" performance at London's O2 Arena as the special guest of Bon Jovi's The Circle Tour, seemed to have recharged his batteries during his stay in Malta since Sunday, putting up a spunky performance with his genre-spanning sound.

Top French DJ and producer David Guetta, who is familiar with Malta, having been here several times, continued to work the crowd, after hours of standing, with his big pop show, including Getting Over You and Love is Gone.

Fans were in for a treat when David Guetta was joined on stage by Chris Willis in a surprise appearance that had everyone partying.
